This is very worrying. Yet another example of the Government blindly wandering into an area it knows nothing about. There’s a lot more to say, but listen to the boy Mark.
Then there’s the BJP, Wikipedia, Stef Lewandowski, Katherine Tyrell, 38 Degrees and this quote from Stop 43:
Clause 43 says that if someone finds your photograph, wants to use it and decides that they can’t trace you, they can do whatever they like with it after paying an arbitrary fee to a UK Government-appointed “licensing body”. You’ll never know unless you happen to find it being used in this way, in which case you should be able to claim some money.
(if you don’t know what an orphan work is, read here) and see this from the Open Rights Group:
So if you think it’ll do any good, Tweet An MP or Write To Them. At the time of writing this, there’s already been a dismally attended debate in the House of Commons and if your MP is one of the 200 standing down at this election, chances are they won’t give a hoot, that’s if they’re not already stuffed into the bulging pockets of Big Music. Mine didn’t show up. Did yours?
Oh and there’s What DE Bill.
2,241 Twitter users have declared that they do not recognise the Digital Economy Bill (#debill)
Tweet. If you don’t use Twitter, why not join up just for this? If you already do please feel free to follow me. More on that another time.
Yes, I’m blogging again. More on that too, another time.
