Jane Bown on Photographing Francis Bacon

She was slightly afraid of him, and the photographs show Bacon looking fearsome. Click through to see the short recording of Jane talking: the Guardian refrains from telling us when this was, but since Bacon died in 1992, perhaps in the late 70s or early 80s.

    what a mearvelleous pictures..i’m grateful you let me recall my sentimental friendship with francis with yours iconic masterpieces…my story with him and the drawings(real,not the ridIcolous scrowls pheraps probabily faked of barry youle archive )he gave me you can see on my journal on line
