Seven years later
There’s party in Westminster next week marking the 7th year of Brian Haw’s protest opposite the Houses of Parliament. He writes:
“June 2nd 2008 is a sad day for me. So many have needlessly suffered and died the 7 years 24/7 we have been witnessing here. I will mark the 7 years by fasting and praying. I invite our supporters to join me in this. Empathy for children and families who die by our war. Thank you for your care and support.”
The photo was taken 3 years ago, when 4 years seemed a long time. Since then, Brian has been celebrated in Mark Wallinger’s Turner Prize and badly beaten up by the police. Go and join him if you can, on his 7th anniversary.
