    About 2004?

the hat on the chap in the f/g looks distinctly contemporary, yet one of the signs says free nelson mandela, the text that reads imperialist wars are naughty and horrid “looks” added on and the white on that poster doesn’t match the lighting in the photo?

Having said all that, i’ve no idea, is it a staged photo?

Perhaps Iraq and Afghanistan were invaded purely to stage this photograph? More likely it is 2003:

The 1st May might refer to getting voters to pressurise candidates in the upcoming council elections.

I’ve no idea, really. The photographer reads this in his feed reader, for some value of reads heh. At a guess it was on the 6th anniversary of the Iraq Invasion a month ago or so, but really, who knows?

Those banners, especially the Release Nelson Mandela one, are amazing, heirlooms really.

Decoy: I have just found your email in my deluge. So very thrilling to be one of your decoys, thank you!!
