Civic Centre in Colour

Whilst Pasmore hunting last week, Mr Pete alerted me to the Pasmore walls in Newcastle Civic Centre and thereby I met the custodians of this lovely building. Everyone’s familiar with the seahorses on the lantern, and those elegant flying swans, but the place is so beautiful inside: the quality of the light that day was breathtaking. I’m back in the morning doing more photographs in the reception area.

Anyone interested in modernist architecture, decor or design, sculpture, the integration of all these elements, will love this building. This batch of photos are on 35mm colour neg film (that Agfa Vista), using an 85mm f/1.4, all natural light, for those who like these details. More to come, probably.
