Pasmore was involved in the design of the housing estate wasn’t he? I did have some photos taken about 1966/67.
Not at all sure - think so, but it all looks very different now. Went there today: photos dev’d in Asda in Hartlepool, but I’m too tired now to scan them. A fascinating place, and I’m full of admiration for the local luminaries for resisting the urge to pull it down.
The scheme I remember was two story housing around a very large open space with some trees in the centre. The houses were all painted black and grey I think.
The housing looks completely different now - it’s nearly all pvc windows and pitched roofs. Sally Anne Norman made a major series in Peterlee some years back, she will know. I need to drop her a line, see where she published them. A trip to the council, too. Will post some of my research photos later.
