Proxy web browsers
There’s been a sudden increase this past week in the number of visitors here using a proxy. These are used by people who don’t want their web browsing tracked, either by me, or by their employer. Perhaps it’s the tee shirts, who knows. Good to think they’re going to all the trouble.

Expired 35mm film branded from a shop that’s been long gone, while testing that lovely old 35mm Canon camera, at New Year down at Strandhill in Co Sligo. Exquisite light.

Uses for layer masks: Peter Kennard
Having learned how to do this stuff recently, and it’s a quite straightforward technique, laborious and tricky to do really well, I keep seeing it everywhere. There must be a repository of pictures intended to make us think again, or smile with recognition and so on. Adbusters is one I linked to earlier, and this is from a collection at Art of the State. It’s Peter Kennard, who has been making this kind of thing for years. It’s in a collection exhibited at Santa’s ghetto in 2006, and found via Lord Patel.
