December 2005, tree lights on the South Bank, avoiding the obligatory skateboarder photos, or the moody uplit St Pauls across the river, these were made with an FM2 and 50mm f/2 (f/2 at about 1/60) and have been described as the worst photography ever seen. Some people like them though, including the cynical but wise Londoner who named them. It’s a useful thing to try, this deliberate defocus, especially if your hands are cold or its too windy to guage stability. Not as easy as you might think to get a pleasing result.
