‘In drawing’ and Photography

‘In drawing’ is the common practice in painting and sculpture, especially, of altering nature to make it look more well, natural. The magnificent Pieta in St Peter’s in Rome is a good example of altered proportions to create a harmonious whole. A really useful piece by Mike Johnson in today’s TOP relates the practice to photography in ways that didn’t quite click with me until now. Thanks, Mike.

Be interesting to hear from the avid retoucher/photoshop addicts whether they’d want to comp in a head from another shot?
