On at B4ltic

Created with Admarket’s flickrSLiDR.

Ending the day the N4n G0ldin show started, these photos were part of a community project using a projected slideshow of photographs from artists and photographers in the NE. There’s a fair amount to say about the experience, and a half-written page about the whole thing and other experiments like this, but it’s pending. Just thought I’d run an experiment with the photos tagged Baltic07 and this embeddable slide show thing. The photographs I submitted are mostly from my Local Colour collection, partly because these are the ones I’m most used to seeing framed/exhibited, so it makes a good comparison to see what they look like screened in a cinema.

In related and very exciting news: there’s a Gursky on the 3rd floor, and the G0ldins were wonderful, in my book. More on that too, shortly.

When the hullaballoo ref the chjld photo that was removed from the G0ldin show has died down, I’ll go back to conventional spelling. I’m sure the massive interest is really only in curating and the censorship issue, aren’t you?

    The slide show seems broken.

No its not… my script blocker working too enthusiastically it seems – although why pollhost.com is linked to the slide show I don’t know.

This embedding of stuff like video or slide shows can often be a bit flaky. Youtube is usually okay, but sometimes Wordpress strips out the embed tags, so nothing appears.

This one uses the dreaded Flickr API, so goodness knows what dim and dark excesses of Yahoo are summoned. Pollhost isn’t one it’s doing for me, usually it’s some adserver.
