The Art Works: May Opening

Courtesy of the iconic Dr Joolz and her intriguing box of tricks comes this web-based slide show thing that is so easy to manage, a 5 year old could do it. And in the way of things of appeal to 5 year olds, comes with flashing twinkly bits, heart shapes, rain splashes, and the plainest version I could find, above.

The photos are the series chosen for my second show at The Art Works on Stepney Bank in Newcastle. April’s opening was fun, lots of fab people came, including my two esteemed mentors, and several of the works sold, so that’s all good. But there’s just the vaguest feeling that all isn’t as rosy as it could be there, with staff changes and things falling off walls, tiny but significant wonk and mishappery. Hmm.

MAP is next month, I believe? Hope so, the Tees fog photos need more exposure, so the excess frames from Local Colour will be useful for that. There is no working title for these, suggestions welcomed, although Park Life as a series definitely could do with analogue printing, and there are some that would do well as candidates for some alternative process work. Cyanotype, maybe? Ooh!
