Another year, and these are such beautiful hands. This photograph is one done of a set of tests to se the difference between film, and digital, in the same lighting conditions, and with the same camera types. This one was taken with a Nikon D80 and 50mm f/1.4 lens. There was no post processing. The comparator was taken with a Nikon F80, 85 f/1.4 lens and Fuji 160 Pro colour film. It was lab processed and then hand printed in a colour print darkroom, colour neutral filters.
There are more in the series, to print at the end of the final term when I can get the darkroom time. Will upload versions for more comparison then.

Newsflash update!
The second photograph was awarded a Merit in the Fujifilm Student Photograher of the Year competition. Yeah, really. Scroll through the slide show at the bottom of the page to see the thumbnail. The prize was a meagre £50 worth of film, though very, very much appreciated. The winner is a student from the nearby Cleveland College of Art and design. Congratulations to Jill Cole!
